Ruth's Blackpool Marathon

On 28th April I'll be running the Blackpool marathon. This is my first marathon and I'd like to raise some money for a wonderful charity called Hug in a Bag. Hug in a Bag give an extra Hug to those affected by breast cancer in the Blackpool area. They provide a bag full of treats such as toiletries, make up and vouchers to those who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

I feel privileged to have good health and be able to run. While I'm running I'll be thinking about two ladies who have suffered from breast cancer. My friend Jenny sadly lost her mum Carol at the end of last year, but she was helped greatly by the charity. Paul's cousin Tracy has bravely battled breast cancer twice.

To help me get round the marathon I'd love you to nominate a mile. It will help me to get through that mile to think about all of you who have sponsored me.

Joannas, Cheese & Wine Bar

Joannas, Cheese & Wine Bar

Heidi and Adrian opened their new venture in March 2018.
Heidi & Adrian chose to support Hug in a Bag by donating £2.50 for every bottle of Prosecco ordered in the restaurant.
They also supported us at their wedding by choosing our HUG pins as favours for their guest.

Every penny raised by wonderful people is so greatly appreciated, but every so often someone comes along and brings a lump to our throats and by goodness this little star certainly did that Olivia walked 5 mile over 3 days between Cleveleys & Fleetwood and raised Hug £100.
Well done Olivia.

Hug in a Bag Ball

Hug in a Bag Ball

We would like to thank everyone who supported Hug in a Bag at our Ball where we raised an amazing £14,000.
"Fantastic night! Congratulations to everyone involved in Hug in a Bag for the work that was put in so as to produce such a memorable evening."
We can’t thank everyone enough who donated raffle prizes and auction lots. Thanks to Gail from Unique Event, who decorated the room again, it looked fabulous. All our committee for their continued support and hard work and last but not least our families for putting up with us through what always seems to be a stressful last few weeks. We just love what we do but couldn’t do it without our army of helpers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without this amazing support we couldn’t carry on giving our hugs to all those going through a very hard time.
